Climbing Osorno's volcano, 2 days - 1 night
The impressive Osorno volcano, protector of the Los Lagos region and the city of Puerto Varas. Its snowy top will be the challenge we will have ahead with an incredible view of the region.
Día 1 – Puerto Varas – Saltos del Petrohue – Refugio Teski
Located within the National Park Vicente Pérez Rosales the Osorno volcano puts us in a prime location to enjoy from above the lake region. Slightly shifted to the west of the Andes mountain range divides the waters of the lakes Todos Los Santos and Llanquihue, shapes the river of turquoise waters and was responsible for creating the Petrohue water falls.

Slightly shifted to the west of the Andes mountain range divides the waters of the lakes Todos Los Santos and Llanquihue, shapes the river of turquoise waters and was responsible for creating the Petrohue water falls.The trek to the glacier starts one hour before sunrise (when the weather forecast is good), to receive the first light of the day high in the mountain. A show of orange colors and silhouettes projected or fleeting clouds and Patagonian winds, that will recharge us and push us up to the 2.000m, to meet the glacier and when the conditions are fine have a walk on it.In the other hand, when the weather forecast shows snow and rain, the trekking changes it goal from enjoy the panoramic views of the Llanquihue lake and majesty of the volcano to experience a mountain trekking in adverse conditions. To feel the wind and push our own limits, knowing that we will have a couple of places to protect us and rest, and a cosy refugio where to be back, take out our wet clothes and enjoy a warm drink. To experience our way more than the point that we want to reach!

Día 2 – Refuge Teski – Osorno Volcano – Puerto Varas.
The ascent towards 2,656m from the Osorno volcano will begin before dawn. Due to the characteristics of the activity and the place, the maximum time to arrive at the summit will be 13:00.The ascent towards 2,656m from the Osorno volcano will begin before dawn. We will have to overcome different cracks along the way to finish with a small ice climbing through the hanging glacier of the volcano, a worthwhile effort but with the help of our expert guides we will have no problems crossing.In its wide summit not only we can rest, but we can enjoy the incredible panoramic view of the region of the Lakes: the Todos los Santos lake, the Petrohue River valley, the Llanquihue lake, the Rupanco lake, the Puntiagudo volcanoes, Calbuco , Casablanca, Puyehue, Mount Tronador, and with good visibility we can see the Llaima volcano in the Araucanía region (more than 300km away).At 1:30 we will start the descent from the summit to the CONAF office. Thus, around 17:00 hours we will find our transport to return to the city of Puerto.
