Towards Heaven in Atacama Hat.
The highest tour in the world is in Chile, you can reach a point above 5,700 meters. As an example, the base camp of Mount Everest is at a height of 5,366 meters above sea level.
Towards Heaven in Atacama Hat.
The day begins in San Pedro de Atacama, at 2450 masl. From there and towards the north we will pass through the community of Guatin, following our path towards the Termas de Puritama.
From this point we will begin the ascent towards the mountain range directing us to the Sairecabur Volcano. At 4,300 meters above sea level we will make a stop to incorporate oxygen into this experience and continue the adventure.
Why do we need oxygen assistance at high altitudes?
As we ascend in altitude, the air that surrounds us is less dense, this means that the molecules that compose it are more separated. For example, at 3000 meters high the atmospheric pressure is two thirds that at sea level. As a result, the air is less dense and each lung filled with air contains only two thirds of oxygen molecules as it did at ground level. At 5500 meters the atmospheric pressure is only half that of sea level, therefore, the number of oxygen molecules in each full lung is reduced by half.

To compensate, we must add pure oxygen to the air we breathe and thus avoid some type of hypoxia (commonly known as altitude sickness, puna, soroche)
That is why our vehicle is equipped with pure oxygen supply devices in each seat. Thus, the shortfall that our bodies obtain naturally is compensated, and the possibilities of apunamiento are reduced.
Our trip continues climbing for about 2h30 hrs to 5,400 mts where we will make the first stop, in this fucking hill to test the oxygen system and begin the acclimatization, after 20 minutes we will return to the truck to continue climbing up to 5700 m, where We will be about 30 minutes to enjoy a magical and unique natural scenario. We will have an impressive view of the Atacama desert, along Chile and views towards Bolivia.
Once back in the truck we will begin the descent, on the way we will make small stops to appreciate the majestic desert and its mountain ranges, of around 15/20 minutes, before continuing until our next stop where we will share a hot snack to later return to San Pedro de Atacama.
